A New Name for the Same Precision Promise

Criterion Tool is now Criterion Precision Machining

For more than 70 years, our name has stood for craftsmanship you can count on. Today, we’re taking that legacy forward with a new name, Criterion Precision Machining, and a bold new look that reflects exactly who we are and where we’re headed.

When my grandfather started this company, precision was our way of life. Every cut, every tolerance, every part that left our floor carried our family’s reputation with it. That hasn’t changed. What has changed is the complexity of the industries we serve and the technology we use to serve them. We’ve evolved from a tool and die shop into a high-precision manufacturing partner for “no-failure” industries (medical device, aerospace, photonics, and defense). Our new name tells that story more clearly: we’re not making tools & dies anymore; we’re machining the parts that make the world work safely, reliably, and beautifully.

This rebrand is a reflection of our commitment to excellence, innovation, and people. We’ve invested in advanced 5-axis milling and Swiss turning equipment, upgraded our ERP system to ProShop for full traceability, and expanded our quality lab to maintain the tightest tolerances in the industry. Our ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 certifications, and our pursuit of CMMC compliance, reinforce what our customers already know: when precision matters most, Criterion delivers.

But this is more than just machines and metrics. It’s about the people who make it all happen. The machinists, engineers, and inspectors who show up every day to solve problems, think critically, and chase perfection. It’s about our customers who trust us with their most demanding parts and our shared belief that collaboration is the ultimate team sport.

We also wanted our brand to reflect something else we care deeply about: the future of manufacturing. That means opening doors for the next generation, especially women, to see that this industry is full of opportunity, creativity, and pride. I’m passionate about showing young people that making things with your mind and your hands isn’t old-fashioned, it’s the foundation of innovation.

Our new brand brings all of that together. The clean design, sharp lines, and confident color palette speak to who we’ve become, a precision partner built on integrity, skill, and trust. And our new website, criterionprecision.com, showcases the industries we serve, the equipment we run, and the standards we live by.

So yes, we have a new name. But we’re still the same family-owned company with the same obsession for detail and the same promise to our customers.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey, from our loyal customers to our dedicated team. Here’s to the next chapter of precision, purpose, and progress.
